TJ Hawke’s Recap and Analysis
They started out trading holds on the mat, and neither man was able to get the advantage. When they got to their feet, Tozawa got the advantage with his superior striking skills. Tozawa started getting the heat after that. Fitchett came back after he kicked out Tozawa’s leg. He followed that up with a table top shooting star press. Tozawa came back with a Saito suplex. Fitchett avoided a German and hit a Falcon Arrow Backbreaker. Tozawa hit a Brogue kick and then a massive German Suplex: 1…2…3!
Such a fun sprint, but I wish they got more time! Fitchett has really been impressing me with some of his recent independent dates, and I hope he gets a bigger opportunity someday soon. Tozawa was obviously on point in this match.
Thoughts from Lee Goodfellow of Indy Wrestling Express:
A match doesn’t have to be a three hour epic with four hundred finishing moves to be great, and this little sprint (sorry for not owning a thesaurus TJ) proved it. Nice flashy wrestling to start, then after Tozawa’s domination they really turned up the heat. Fitchett impressed as he managed to hang with Tozawa in the quick paced Dragon Gate style finishing stretch, which culminated in a particularly nice german suplex from the champion. As you’ve probably worked out by now, I enjoyed this a lot.
